Three hour commute home and no dance class for me :-(  Kinda cool watching all the smoke pour out of the tunnels at Park Street, though.  It was total chaos above ground after the station was evacuated. I eventually found a T person who said that the Green Line was in fact running out of Boylston, so I hoofed it over there and took the Green Line to the Dudley bus to the 77 bus.  I only got moderately drenched in the process and even got a seat on the 77.  I do actually feel like I breathed a lot of smoke, which I suppose I did.  How'd you do, silas7 ?

God help this city if there's ever a real emergency--two closed subway stations in rush hour pretty much ground Boston to a halt.

I was wondering what the big deal was with all of the pedestrians at the Leverett Circle and Longfellow Bridge. I rode past a fair number of commuters whie the storm was in its second phase and we'd look at each other and exchange mixed glances about which of us was having the more miserable commute.

Getting on the Red Line at Alewife, I was puzzled why a fire in Boston would require shuttle service between Harvard and Broadway. Thankfully, I was only going to Davis. :)

Ugh. My commute was only 2-1/2 hours. I was on the Dudley and 77 buses with you, but too far away in the crush of people to say anything. Your hair was an orange beacon of hope, though.

That's too funny. I think by the time I was on the 77 I was probably incapable of coherent speech, just focusing on enduring.

I hoofed it through the Commons, the Public Garden, up Charles St. across the Longfellow bridge, through MIT campus, to Mass. Ave. I took a bus the rest of the way to Harvard, where I grabbed dinner, then another bus to North Cambridge, where I walked home.

The worst part of the walk wasn't the rain, but the bus ride on Mass. Ave. :)
