don't wanna wait!

Thanks to ayun 's pop music mix, I'm now obsessed with Amy Winehouse and was all set to run straight to Newbury Comics after work and pick up her cds--but further research shows they haven't been released in the US yet!  Wah!  Her most recent cd will be released here come mid-March.  By which time Rehab might be out of my head, but probably not.

Just signed up for Katia's Ghawazee workshop--I'm super excited!  That's material I've been wanting to learn for a long time, and she learned it directly from the source.  Couldn't ask for better!  Except of course maybe going to Egypt to study with the source myself.

Najmat's class was excellent last night and just flew by.  I hadn't realized how much the ache in my leg generated from Monday night's class was really affecting my performance in Tuesday night's class.  Well, it's obvious if one stops to think about it, but one doesn't.  Najmat even had to remind me a couple of times *not* to go up on my toes during certain movements.  Felt good!

It appears that Boston is *not* being blown to bits by IEDs left all over the place.  That's rather a relief.

Never, ever, ever put something in the toaster oven with the broken off switch and then go sit down at the computer "just to take a quick look at my email."

I don't know whether I am more annoyed that I burnt yummy Greek spinach bread stuff to a cinder, or more troubled that the entire apartment is full of smoke and none of the smoke detectors seem to care.  I am however sheepishly relieved that I still haven't put plastic on the windows and thus was able to open a window and set up a fan to get the smoke out.

Also, I do believe I will be picking up a new toaster oven on my way home tomorrow.

Wine, that's what I need.  And food that cooks in the microwave.

edited to add: and my hair, freshly washed this morning, now smells like smoke. Lovely!
