Thanks to ayun 's pop music mix, I'm now obsessed with Amy Winehouse and was all set to run straight to Newbury Comics after work and pick up her cds--but further research shows they haven't been released in the US yet!  Wah!  Her most recent cd will be released here come mid-March.  By which time Rehab might be out of my head, but probably not.

(UK women of southeast Asian descent playing with American music forms = one of the best music genres ever!)

amy winehouse is incredible (aside from her music) if only because she is absolutely insane. somewhere on youtube there is a duet between her and charlotte church (they are singing beat it by michael jackson) and it is sublime in how drunk amy obviously is.

I discovered The Pipettes, Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen this year, and fell in love with all of them - the personality that comes through in their music is so fascinating.
