alonewiththemoonNever, ever, ever put something in the toaster oven with the broken off switch and then go sit down at the computer "just to take a quick look at my email."
I don't know whether I am more annoyed that I burnt yummy Greek spinach bread stuff to a cinder, or more troubled that the entire apartment is full of smoke and none of the smoke detectors seem to care. I am however sheepishly relieved that I still haven't put plastic on the windows and thus was able to open a window and set up a fan to get the smoke out.
Also, I do believe I will be picking up a new toaster oven on my way home tomorrow.
Wine, that's what I need. And food that cooks in the microwave.
edited to add: and my hair, freshly washed this morning, now smells like smoke. Lovely!
