This whole "there are no vampires at Boston Latin" thing is seriously putting me in mind of Ungroundable...

Today I learned that the Lithuanian word for ferret is fredka.  That is a rather cute word.

Our student interns go to Boston Latin. One of them was telling us this afternoon about the Fox 25 reporters trying to talk to any body they could outside the school.

Personally I think there must be vampires at Boston Latin. Why else would they make so much effort to deny the absurd. Ah good times... or should that be Ah end times...

What cracks me up are the comments...

Kids who graduated a long time ago (i.e. class of 2008) referring to those still there as "kids"...

People who complain about the school reputation not being up to par with what it was when they gradjuated, while making plenty of errors nearly as obvious as that one I just made up...

Best comment on the article:

"I'd echo what someone else said: I'd rather my 13-year old daughter adopted the black/black/black goth look, than walked around with her butt sliding out of her "Juicy" branded, rolled-down-waist-band sweatpants, or her newly developed chest spilling out of a skimpy spaghetti-strapped cami/hoodie combo. "

HA!

We raised a fuss back in jr. high, because we were getting targeted by the principals for wearing ripped jeans to school, at a time where the 8th grade fashion was stilettos with bobby socks and micro-mini skirts. We argued that although we dressed "sloppy" in our ripped jeans, combat boots and black t-shirts, we were more appropriately dressed than the other 14-yo in mini skirts. The argument didn't fly.
