The only thing worse than a plumber working loudly right under your floor with much rattling and banging and awful grinding noises that shake the house to its foundations is the same only with a country music station blaring on the radio and singing along.

I can't leave the house because I have got to get my costume work done.  This will be a challenging day.

I say that plenty of Middle Eastern music can counter country for startling loudness and obnoxious instruments. Meezmars, anyone? How loud can your speakers go?

Either he'll get the hint and turn it down, or you just won't have to hear him. Also, this is convenient for setting the mood for costuming.

I don't suppose you could take your sewing materials over to a friend's place for the day to work on things in a more peaceful setting?

I totally feel for you by the way ~ I can't tell you how many days I had to spend with that (sans country music) in our Salem apartment. There was one building that was being demolished/renovated next door for about *two years*.
