First and foremost, even if the Ave Maria was sung by Celine Dion, I *loved* the Mia Michaels group choreography for the women--loved the choreo, loved the dancing, loved the makeup and costuming, and I'll even admit that Celine Dion can sing up a heavenly choir given the right material.  All of those women transcended themselves.

The men's Five Moes number was very good, though I was irked by the camera work that tended to cut out everybody but Will.  It was interesting to realize which dancers were sticking out for me in the routine--I did spend most of it watching Will and Joshua.  I wouldn't rule out a slight bias towards them on Nigel's part, though.

I was surprised by the final results.  Poor Kherington, America is so fickle!  I'm not sure if it was really the right choice or not, but I did think Comfort's solo completely rocked this week.  If she could only learn to point her feet when doing anything but hip hop...  I thought Gev's solo was stunning so was sorry to see him go, but it had to be him or Mark.

The Bollywood number was... interesting.  Most of the dancers didn't really get the quality of the movement, so far as I could tell.  Obviously Joshua and Katee were familiar with the style, and Katee got pretty central billing.  I thought Gev and Courtney also did okay with it.  The rest of them, though, didn't seem to know what to do with themselves, all uncertain arms and hunched shoulders.

Funny that I feel more secure critiquing Bollywood dance than my own culture's dance traditions, but I'd have to say I've seen considerably more Indian dance than ballet/contemporary/Broadway.

I did some dancing with my shamadan.  I like the way having such a heavy yet well balanced weight on your head makes your hips feel like a swinging pendulum.  Fun stuff.

I thought it would be between Comfort and Kherrington. Kherrington leaving didn't surprise me since the public was voting. I think Comfort redeemed herself with the Hip Hop solo with Will and I think that was what they were voting on. That first number w/ Will...In the beginning where they were walking together arm and arm, he looked at and she didn't acknowledge him! I thought she was going to leave just for lack of connection.

The Bollywood number...I agree. I was looking for something...more execution maybe?

I've done Broadway type dance numbers which are really fun. I kept watching Gev to see if he was keeping up with the choreography. Sorry to see him go because he has grown in his dancing. I loved what he did with the music in his solo.

I bow to Mia Michaels...WOW!!!

On bhuz, there was a dancer who said that she doesn't think i's random when the couples pick the routines...She was commenting how Comfort and Will happened to get a Hip Hop routine...What do you think?

I agree. I think sometimes people get lucky and pick the style thats they are known for doing. If jessica didn't get injured and Comfort had not stepped in her place, another couple would have gotten Hip Hop.

I loved having Lil C on the judging panel!!! He is so poignant with his comments about the performances.
