The post office attempted to deliver my Green Goddess costume at 7:30 this morning, but since I am not working today, I was not awake to hear the doorbell and sign for it. Now I have to wait until tomorrow to pick it up from the post office, while it spends the rest of today riding around in a truck. I am somewhat tempted to race around town flagging down postal vehicles this afternoon.
It is sadly ironic to rejoice that a species has been put on the Endangered Species List, but I am glad that the US has put the polar bear officially on the list. It is important from an environmental standpoint, and while I've always liked polar bears quite a bit, I like them even more now that recent analysis shows that they might really be giant weasels and not bears. Kudos to Senator Kerry for co-sponsoring the piece of legislation that got them listed.
Dancing at the Athenian Corner tonight with the Jewels of Jamal, yay! I'm on during the first set, so I'll actually get to sit and eat dinner and have a glass of retsina and watch other dancers while the second set goes on. I may also be playing zills with the band during a less experienced dancer's turn; I really enjoy doing that. It feels wonderfully classic era of belly dance and gives one a chance to play the zills just as an instrument and not worry about movement.
