I treated myself to a little expedition to the MAC counter after work today and picked up three of the new Veluxe Pearl eyeshadows--good god, these things really do live up to all the hype. The shadow just glides onto your skin, and blending them is incredibly easy. And the colors are indescribable--the way they refract light gives them all a continuity with each other despite the very different shades (which I guess is part of why they blend so well, in addition to their consistency). I picked up Star Violet, which looks dark in the pan but goes on more burnished rose, Sumptuous (sp) Olive, which is an olive green shot through with golden shimmer, and Woodwinked, a slightly plummy warm golden medium brown (though calling it "brown" is kind of like calling the MFA "an art gallery"). I swear they flow onto your eyelids. Luckily they are being made a permanant part of MAC's product line, otherwise I'd have to go buy them all now and go broke!

Ooh, now I want to go get a MAC makeover. Those sound really nice and I've had a real problem with eyeshadows lately going on chunky.
