Saw the physical therapist again today--he didn't want to tell me this on Tuesday as he didn't want to scare me, but since my foot was doing much better today he felt that he could now tell me that on Tuesday my foot was nearly as bad as it was when I first started PT in December. :-( No more dancing in shoes, ever, or at least not until this is really and truly cleared up, if that ever happens. This has been such a week of ups and downs. I would like to get off this roller coaster now please.
I think I will put up my silver ballroom shoes for sale just so I won't ever be tempted by them. If anybody here wants first dibs, they're 2" heels, open toed with a combination of leather straps and mesh, with an ankle strap, made in Argentina, size 38. Silver all over, very pretty and elegant. I would put them at about a 7.5 US or a small 8, slightly narrower than average. Because the mesh is metallic, there is no stretch to the toe box. $120 new, I've worn them maybe 6 times, asking $60 (plus shipping if you aren't local). Let me know if anybody wants pictures, otherwise they'll be hitting Bhuz probably Sunday.
I didn't find Project Runway all that interesting last night, so no extended commentary. Totally thought Sweet P should have won.
One positive thing amidst all my dance ups and downs: one of my goals for the year was to create an interesting 15 minute gothic belly dance set, not for any occasion in particular but to have if needed. Lo and behold, I have a gothic performance with a 15 minute time slot on March 1, how convenient! I'm taking it as a sign that my assessment of where I'm at and what I need to work on is absolutely correct. So there, progress-impeding confidence-sapping injury and occasionally brain!
