rather random question

Does anybody happen to have a stray archery arrow that they don't need?  One with feathers on it already, 30 inches or so, and preferably a flat broadhead point, though I could make my own point if need be.  I need one for a prop, and it occurs to me that a real one would probably be more durable than anything I could make, but many real ones are pretty expensive for something that I am going to cover in gold spray paint and glue jewels on.

That would be great--as another poster commented, I can make my own arrowhead. I'd like to get it before xmas so I can work on the project during the school break. Mayhaps you and me and M could meet up for dinner sometime soon?

*probably* not, we're going to a concert for the first part of the night and I suspect I will be toast at that point, especially since I have to get up early the next morning for a friend's kid's birthday party. I know I will for sure be at the Middle East on Sunday Dec. 9 and Dec. 23 :-)

I have some target arrows at home, but they are the cheap wooden camp ones with the blunt tips. The tips don't come off.

Broadhead points are pretty pricey; my dad's buddies who bowhunted always made a point of retrieving and reusing them on new shafts (if the shafts got broken). I also remember that all the broadheads I saw were like four razor blades that came together. Like these:

I poked around ebay and found a variety of arrowheads--now that i think of it, the two-edged ones were usually called vintage. I think I will take your advice of making my own. I've never used that Friendly Plastic stuff before, it sounds very useful!

I had another thought on this; any museums by you of colonial life with gift shops? These types of shops usually have some stone arrowheads for sale, and they're pretty cheap.

Or you could always make one out of Sculpey or friendly plastic. Friendly plastic is mega cheap and comes in a lot of cool colors too.
