Diva Pageant video
Oct. 4th, 2007 11:38 amHere I am at the 2007 Boston Viva La Diva Pageant. The male announcer at the beginning made my morning. I feel like a real belly dancer now, having been subjected to bizarre video editing. In fact, I know that in some places the footage and the music do not at all go together, so anywhere that I look way off the beat or am doing say really slow things to fast music or vice versa or the music jumps abruptly, blame the editing, not my dancing. I can see why I was not winning or placing material in the contest, but I do think it represents a good step forward in my dancing and it's given me some concrete direction about the things I need to work on. also i really need to lose weight

I watched with the sound off..

Date: 2007-10-05 04:24 pm (UTC)I'm sadly coming to the conclusion that this costume is one for the sale pile--all the colors on it are great for me (the shade of red, teal, bronze, etc), but the tummy piece just does not work. Luckily there is a brisk trade in secondhand costumes, so I'll be able to basically turn it over into another costume. Part of becoming a more professional dancer, I guess, is learning that just because a costume is beautiful on the rack does not necessarily mean that it will be right for my particular body.
