I am loving the new M.I.A. single, Boyz--here's the somewhat epilepsy inducing video.  Fair warning:  one listen and it will be stuck in your head for a long time to come.  I picked up the actual CD single which has a film about the making of the video, apparently it was a real challenge to get all the Jamaican dance crews to dance together in unison as they are generally too competitive for cooperation.  Adds the perfect edge to the video, I think.  Anyway I am looking forward to the full album, I was starting to worry that she was a one shot phenomenon but happily it looks like not.

I had no idea she existed (and seemed to miss the "new" description of the single when I clicked through to watch the video) and so I thought it was from the 80's because of the special effects.

It makes more sense to me now after finding out through the making-of video (part of the video is linked to before the music video) that it was done in Jamaica. It's kinda cool to think they have their own style of street dancing down there that realy doesn't look anything like what we have up here.

..And you're right, the song really does hammer itself into your brain.
