It is legal to keep a "pet" panther in Miami-Dade County, but illegal to keep a pit bull.  The mind boggles.  I suppose it's a anti-gang/anti-drug thing more than it is really about the pit bulls, but still.  I learned this reading Dolittler, a veterinarian's blog to which I have become addicted after it was mentioned by sanguineempathy

Faina and Jimmy were totally robbed last night.  Really, really unfair.  I would have booted Cedric and Jessie.

People who say belly dance isn't cardiovascular activity should try doing several run throughs of a set of dramatic Egyptian intro w/ veil and arabesques, cane to a sha'abi pop piece and a khaleegi drum solo in an 80 degree apartment.   The khaleegi drum solo is a blast, I can't help grinning even just practicing it at home.

I think I want to see A Mighty Heart.  It scares me to even think about it though.

I thought Shauna should have gone, honestly. Her solo routine was the best, but overall she's not as good as Faina and Jessie. And Jimmy was totally shafted; so not fair. Cedric really deserved to go.

overall you're right about Shauna, but if they're supposed to judge on the basis of the solos, then it should have been Jessie.

the Cedric thing really pissed me off. If they really were just judging on the quality of the solos than it should have been Pasha who was tossed.

Well, I have a lot of sympathy for the fact that it is inherently more difficult for dancers who come from a partnered dance tradition to do a solo in their style than it is for the hip hop/lyrical/modern/etc dancers. All Cedric was doing was what he always did, whereas there was an extra challenge for Pasha. And I think Pasha shows a lot more potential than Cedric.

I was more referring to a comment one of the judges made about 'we have to judge you on the solo, not anything else.' I think both Jimmy and Cedric had stronger solos than Pasha, so IF they were serious about that criteria then he should have been the one to go. OTOH I don't think they should be judging solely on the solo, espicially when they've said things like 'I feel bad for the girl you're going to get kicked off the show'.

At least they have their 'villain' for the season now... I'll probably just go back to playing video games through it though.

Yep, Cedric should have gone. Why keep someone that you're already feeling so strongly "I won't support you in the future" about?

I don't have everyone's names down yet, but although the blonde girl's solo was good, overall, I'd have prefered she go home.

Faina kind of reminded me of Tatiana, so I think I had a soft spot for her!

I have no idea why it was Jimmy - he's been good in everything, even though that step routine was weak (not his fault). Makes me think they were just screwing with the audience, actually. I thought Cedric's solo was better than Pasha's, but overall clearly Pasha is better all-around.

And Faina was totally robbed. Her solo was better than Jessie's, AND she is clearly an excellent all-around dancer. I would have ditched Jessie based on solos alone, and Shauna overall, though I do think she's good.

I was really shocked that Jessie and Pasha ended up dancing last night! I wonder if the judges wanted to keep them around because they disagreed with this week's bottom 3 vote. Maybe they just weren't going to vote them out no matter what else happened. That still doesn't explain keeping Cedric though.
