venting!

I am so livid I am seeing white--the f*cking neighbors for the third weekend in a row are doing laundry before noon, this time it started at 9:45am.  When they moved in both we and the landlord told them that it wakes us up and to please not run the laundry machines before noon, and they said fine.  The washing machine shakes our bed on spin cycle, and you imagine trying to sleep with your head ~15 feet from a dryer full of clothing.  Plus there's all the doors banging and the tromping up and down the steps that run behind our bedroom wall.  They are generally nice people and good neighbors but this insensitivity makes me so angry.  Later today we will talk to them or leave them a nice note, but right now I'm so cranky and mad about being woken up on one of the very few precious days when I can get enough sleep that I would tear their heads off and permanently damage neighborly relations.

I know that feeling :(

Our apartment has this subtle, but continuous shaking every summer because of the gargantuan industrial AC unit on the roof. Of course the AC is only for the offices/stores below, so we didn't even get any of the benefits of it. Maybe other people didn't really notice it, but it made me feel motion sick ~all~ the time.

And our brick walls were great, but the interior walls are all uninsulated drywall, so you could hear pretty much everything from the neighbor. Every sneeze, every phonecall, toilet flushes, etc... One time years ago Bob was here and asked "what the heck is that Niagara Falls sound?".

As much as I'm feeling a bit heartbroken to leave, there are some domestic things which I'm looking forward to hopefully improving alot.

my crazy roommate from last year did that too. except she started the washer dryer at 7am on sunday mornings and made a point of letting the household know that she was cleaning the toilet too. which happened to be next to my room.

i know it's really frustrating but unfortunately there are a lot of people who like to do these things early because that is when it's convenient for them (eg if they have to go out or have children or something). it really sucks for us late morning folk though :(
