What is it?
A fundraiser that will encompass belly dance workshops, a hafla with tons of dancers and raffles with wonderful prizes!
Shimmies for a Cure is the fundraiser run by Baseema and *Samantha* to
support the Pan Mass Challenge (www.pmc.org). The PMC is a 2-day bike ride from one part of
Massachusetts to the other. Baseema will be actually only riding one day - 110 miles
from Sturbridge to Bourne.
The ride raises money for the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
*All proceeds will go directly to the charity*

Workshops by Boston favorites:
12:30-1:30 - Nadira – Composition of Dance
1:45-2:45 - Badriya- Intro to Gothic Bellydance
3:00-4:00 - Sabrina – Art of the Drum Solo
4:15-5:15 - Lilya – Balancing with Grace and Style
Hafla Dancers include:
Lilya, Sabrina, Nadira, Nikki, Badriya, Nepenthe, Zehara Nachash (and her snakes!), Attar Mellea, OmBellyCo, Zaharah, Exquisite Corpse, Phoenix Avathar, Aepril, Peridata, Karina Khan, Erzulie, Baseema, Tiamet and Nastasia!
How much?
1 workshop - $25
2 workshops- $45 (save $5!)
3 workshops - $65 (save $10!)
4 workshops- $80 (save $20)
Hafla only - $25 before April 21st (includes 20 dancers, yummy food and drink)
$35 at the door or after April 21st
Attend 1-3 workshops and pay only $10 for the hafla!
Attend all 4 workshops and the hafla is free!

Baha and Debbie from Anatolia Imports will be vending their gorgeous selection of hip scarves, costumes, veils, jewelry etc.
Sassy Sparkles will be vending their world famous Eye Kandy as well – all 48 standard colors, some special colors from Miss Rom herself including a BRAND NEW color for this event called Pan Mass Peacock! All proceeds of this special color will be given directly to the PMC!!

Note to those who might be interested in my workshop--it is intended for people who already have belly dance experience but do not know much about gothic belly dance or goth in general. None of the movements we'll be working with are that complicated or advanced, but dancers in the workshop should feel comfortable with basic movements (tribal or cabaret, won't really matter).
