Awesome job! All the performances (that I got to see at least ;)) were really engaging. Everything went pretty smoothly as far as I could tell! Can you believe it?
Loved your daggers and your kamp!
Thanks again for all your hard work! It paid off fur sure!
The event was great! I'm sorry that I had to leave halfway through (stupid job) - BUT - i have photographs of most of the performances from the first act (was up front with wide angle and normal lenses) - is there somewhere you'd like me to send them to?
(I wasn't planning on posting/putting up pictures of groups/performers without permission from them, but i can send you private links or a zip file or ship a cd or some other option : )
Hey sol3! I am in Lotus Moon (feather fans). Do you have any pics of us you would like to share? You can email me at pamela@lotusmoondance.com if so. Thanks!
I have pics! I haven't had a chance to go through them in detail yet. Unfortunately because I was a little off center the angle on a lot of them is odd (and i'm sure some of the wide angle lens distortion doesn't necessarily help) - so I need to see what shots I have that stand on their own and what shots are capable of correction. I definitely got a bunch of you guys, though!
Actually, I can correct wide angle. But the biggest distortions in wide angle are at the edges, and I tried to frame things away from that for the most part - but this way i could still get more of the stage (even if it's slight warped). Plus, it let me stay close, meant I could get away with flashes. And mostly, it's because i've been renting and playing with a 16-35mm f/2.8L lens from canon, and it seemed like a good excuse. (Though, to be fair I was also shooting with a 28-70mm f/2.8 lens (alas, not a canon L - that's a mighty fine lens, though)).
If canongrrl is interested in the camera geeking side - I was shooting with a Canon 5d and the above lenses : )
(And a pair of 1 gig cards that meant I was swapping cards every 50 or so shots : )
Sorry you had to leave--thanks for taking photos though! Probably sending me a private link would be best, and then I can forward it to the dancers. My email is badriya at rcndotcom. I don't think most of them would have any issue with you posting them publically (it's free publicity for them!) but I will check with them and get back to you.

Date: 2006-10-09 09:14 pm (UTC)wide angle is evil though! I don't want to see any pictures of myself taken with a wide angle.
