alonewiththemoonHad such a productive time at the Dance Complex last night--not even the thundering African drums could break my focus! I'm much happier with how I move with the claws now. It's interesting, I realized that dancing with my hands closed around something does strange things to energy flow, at least visually and probably psychologically as well (I use "energy" in an artistic sense here, not chakras or whatever, which I'm sure I don't have to tell longterm readers ;). I had to get myself to think of the claws as part of my body to get things looking right again. That's partly why I'm calling them claws all the time now and not knives or daggers--claws are a body part. Anyway, it was wonderful to work on my own creative stuff at my own pace using my own processes, and I don't even feel too damaged today.
Treated myself to Ethiopian takeout from Asmara on my way home--this time I remembered to ask for spicy, so it had some flavor. Still not spicy enough but maybe if I go there more often they'll start giving me the real thing. I had the perfect accompaniment for it at home, mead from Nashoba Winery.
Raks Spooki program is just about done--I'm still waiting on a couple of bios but if they're not in there, c'est la vie. I'm not going to stress about it. Arlington Comcast will be recording the show for use in a 90th anniversary special on the Regent to be aired this fall/winter and then hopefully a show to be broadcast sometime in the next year on just Raks Spooki. Hopefully I can get a copy of all the footage.
So yeah, Lost was a bit draggy. Tell us something about Jack we don't already know... But I really liked the stuff at the beginning with the Others and their little community, and seeing how Ethan Rom and the other guy were sent out to the crash sites. Most of the rest of it I thought was just setting the groundwork for things to come.
The Hydra hatch--now that cable Sayid found on the beach makes sense, as does the shark.
Bears--the Other told Sawyer that the bears had figured out how to get their fish biscuits more quickly than he did. Bears, as in polar bears? They eat fish. Looked like there was an aviary over by the cages as well, which perhaps is where the Hurley bird came from...
I am definitely a Skater so I liked the Sawyer-Kate interaction at the cages. It must be love, he gave her his fish biscuit without being asked and asked for nothing in return!
Kinda neat noting the different psychological tactics being used on each of the captives. But I wonder what happened to Kate after breakfast to abrade her wrists so much.
Oh, and nice shoutout to Raiders of the Lost Ark with the dress and breakfast with Ben.
