I think they're also running trains (at least the above-ground ones) at 3 mph due to the rail-warping heat. Might be better to take the bus?

Hrm, that is not true. But I think I'd still rather walk to the bus than be in Park Street station.

They were going pretty slow above ground--according to the paper this morning, no more than 10mph, because the rails were actually warping in the heat. I totally lucked out--I didn't get on the first red line train that came, figuring it was worth the risk since the next one could hardly be worse. Lo and behold, the next one was air conditioned and even had empty seats!
