It is legal to keep a "pet" panther in Miami-Dade County, but illegal to keep a pit bull.  The mind boggles.  I suppose it's a anti-gang/anti-drug thing more than it is really about the pit bulls, but still.  I learned this reading Dolittler, a veterinarian's blog to which I have become addicted after it was mentioned by sanguineempathy

Faina and Jimmy were totally robbed last night.  Really, really unfair.  I would have booted Cedric and Jessie.

People who say belly dance isn't cardiovascular activity should try doing several run throughs of a set of dramatic Egyptian intro w/ veil and arabesques, cane to a sha'abi pop piece and a khaleegi drum solo in an 80 degree apartment.   The khaleegi drum solo is a blast, I can't help grinning even just practicing it at home.

I think I want to see A Mighty Heart.  It scares me to even think about it though.
