Two items of meh:

Just had what was really a very lovely chat with Tim at Dahlal, but unfortunately the Badriya costume cannot be special ordered, it's really just the one they have in stock.  However, "one like that but in any shade of silver and that would fit my measurements" has been added to Dahlal's shopping list for her trip to Egypt next week.  I'll find out when she gets back if she was able to find anything or not--by then I probably would not get the discount, but by then I will also probably have my tax return.  Apparently all the dancers are raving about this line of costumes, so I hope the designer has a big bunch ready and waiting for her.  An added benefit to my conversation with Tim is that he remembered that the Sophisticated Assuit they have there was mine, and he added "blue beads from Eman" to Dahlal's shopping list, so I have hope I will actually wear the costume someday (the hold up at this point is the blue beading on the hip scarf, the neckline is done).  He said they have been very disappointed with Eman over the last year, that she grew too much too fast and her business practices suffered greatly as a result.  So if you were thinking of ordering an Eman any time in the future, I'd hold off for another year or so and see how the quality goes.

Second item of meh:  talked to Dr. M about Ronan.  We do have some room to go up with his prednisolone, so we'll try that.  And she said Angell has some of the prescription non-chicken diets I had found out about online and will line me up with some of that, to see if maybe Ronan's digestion is being further aggravated by a chicken or poultry allergy (uncommon but not rare in ferrets).  But in talking with her, I think it finally sunk in for me that no matter what drugs and foods we give Ronan, he just will never be a healthy ferret, and we will have to count ourselves fortunate if we can make him a generally comfortable ferret until ulcers or infections or the cancers that can follow IBD become too much.  Intellectually I had known that, but I think now I intuitively know it as well.  This makes me very sad for the poor weasel.  It also makes me full of anger at the pet store trade/big breeders and at stupid people who get pets that they shouldn't.  I feel bad for having encouraged the pet store trade and big breeder side of things, though I can't be at all sorry that we have Seti and that we gave Pan a very good quality for his all too short life.
