I didn't make it into that NY performance in September, but I'm only slightly disappointed. I had already figured that I wasn't quite the calibre they were looking for, subsequently confirmed by the list of performers who were accepted, and I was dead tired when we did the audition tape. It also may be submitting a piece with wings hurt my chances, as Ayshe is in the event and there's just no competing with that. And my audition piece was a minute and a half longer than the guidelines stated. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, I guess. I am a little bummed, but it does make life a lot easier in some ways and it's not like I don't have enough going on up here, I know I'll have at least three shows in Sept. already plus planning for the Tempest workshop and gothic hafli in early Oct. Man, this grass is totally greener ;-)
edited to add: Oooh! I just found out that not only will Tempest have a tribal fusion instructor with her in Boston, but it will be Ariellah, one of the co-founders of the Indigo and fine fine gothic tribal fusion dancer! Squeeee!!! I'm much happier about planning all this than I would be about going to NY, I sincerely tell you! :-)))))
