May. 4th, 2006 12:12 pmToday would have been a good day to get three or four more hours of sleep and then lounge on my couch enjoying breezes while listening to the new Natacha Atlas album (very good so far, kinda bossanova triphop in feel) and sipping tea, and then cleaning up the garden. Alas, it is not that kind of day at all.
My tech rehearsal scheduled for tonight was cancelled at the last minute so now I have a free evening before me. I wish I could go out to Dark Skies to see all the lovely bands, including Seven Sunless Days, but I'm still too sickish to be doing that the night before I have a show of my own. So I'll go home and get in some practicing and do some yoga and then vegetate in front of ER, which I am somewhat embarassed to admit I still watch, have been watching for what, ten years now? I know it's not very good any more but I can't help it.
I've decided that my Melodia mini pants are just too annoyingly short and that I must buy the next length up. If anyone here is interested in a pair of black Melodias, pocket-style mini, M32, I'll give you first shot before I put them up for general sale. They're the newer style with the wider waistband. They've been worn/laundered more than ten times, fewer than 20, so they are not new (there's some slight pilling on the inner thighs, you can only see it up close) but are in very good condition. Smoke-free home, but with the ferrets I can't guarantee no pet hair, though of course I'll go over them before sending them out. I'm looking to get $45 including shipping (new is $75 with shipping). According to the Melodia sizing chart, Medium fits sizes 6-8-10, and the inseam should be about two inches longer than your actual inseam, more if you are curvy since the length will get eaten by the sideways stretch. Being a curvy 8-10 with a 31 inch inseam, the M32 ends up being too short for me. I'll probably list them for sale at Tribe and bhuz over the weekend.
Made an appointment with a chiropractor for next week to try to get at why the left side of my body is all out of sorts all the time--I had a free exam coupon from being in the Boston Belly Dance Awards last fall, with a chiropractor who specializes in athletes and dancers, so I'm using it. I approach this with open-minded skepticism; hopefully some good will come out of it. The worst thing that can happen is that it's a waste of an hour.
Oh, if anybody was thinking about going to the Green Street Studios Community Concert tomorrow night, call ahead to buy your ticket or to see if tickets are still available, I have heard that they expect this event to sell out.
