This morning I went to listen to a playlist of drum solos on my mp3 player, only to discover that a bunch of them had been replaced by a drum version of Deck the Halls.  Further exploration of playlists revealed that other drum solos (perhaps the same ones) had been replaced elsewhere by Deck the Halls.  If it had been some other random regular drum solo, that might have been ok, but it just tisn't the season any more.

Worked last night on some music from Fif Abdo's Bent al Beladi album, and realized that I just can't do it justice by Sunday.  I have a break of a few weeks before I dance at the Middle East again so I'll save it for the end of the month, and do stuff I already know for this week (except I want to do a new drum solo, hence the listening to drum solos this morning).  I really want to do some cane, I miss it.

And that's my exciting life so far today.  I went to bed early and am still tired; I realized on the walk to Alewife this morning that my winter illnesses have left me just in time for spring allergies to start kicking in.  One just can't win.  I also noticed that my fluevog everyday boots are starting to pull apart at the seams, which very much sucks as I am poor.  So much for the Dalia Carella workshop later this month.  On the positive side, Ronan was really good about taking his yucky medicine this morning.  I think giving him some linatone first helps, because then his taste buds have an oily coating to protect him from the horrible bitterness.

Talking to [livejournal.com profile] misscalculation  yesterday, I wondered if bitterness is really a taste or whether it is more of a sensation.  It seems different somehow.
