I thought for sure I'd be Batman, but I guess liking archaeology made the difference.

My tummy and my lungs all feel icky and the massive bruise I gave myself on Saturday is tightening up my entire left hamstring. Tonight is the second rehearsal of four in a row, and then the contest on Saturday. Somewhere in that I will find time to work on my own solo piece. I performed it for Amira Jamal's class on Monday and got the expected feedback: do exactly what I'm doing, but more so. I think some of that won't be a problem on Saturday; I generally find another gear for real performances that I don't seem to be able to access on a more casual basis. But it is what I often think when I see myself on tape, sigh.

I made curtains for my office so that I will be able to block out glare in the mornings and have some privacy from the street once the leaves fall off the tree outside the window. From a distance, the curtains look like lush royal purple velvet. Up close, however, you can tell that they are craft felt and are held together with staples, because I swore I would not lug my sewing machine to the office nor the fabric home. Ha!

hey are there any good tribal bellydance teachers in the area?

Well, depends on how you define area... In metro Boston, none that I'm really aware of, which doesn't mean they aren't out there somewhere. But there are definitely teachers/tribes in western MA/CT/NH/RI. I've seen the troupe AzarMaya from RI perform and have met a couple of the members--you could contact them and ask them for suggestions of anyone closer to Boston.
