Seven Sunless Days tonight

In case you hadn't heard, M's band, Seven Sunless Days, is playing at the Skybar tonight. They play first, and doors are at 9. I believe the Skybar is pretty prompt, so don't be late if you want to see them.

In today's Globe there was a neat article about fishers--the weaselly creatures, not individuals who catch fish. I would have liked to have learned more about fishers themselves and less about people being worried that the fishers will eat their cats, but it's still interesting.

hey, M mentioned to me yesterday that the DVD copy didn't work out. Did you want me to give it another go?

If you have any ideas, sure, that would be great--my fear is that by copying the image from the +R, it somehow formats the -R as a +R, or leaves the data in +R format. I got the same error message from the DVD player as from the original, incorrect disc format.

My last ditch hope is that I could borrow a DVD player that will play +Rs from somebody, play the DVD, and record it off the TV feed using my DVD recorder.

well, my theory (which is mine) is similar to yours (which is yours).

The original copy process that I used just did a bit-for-bit copy of the disc and transferred that to the new media. My alternate idea would be to actually rip out the MPEG files and re-encode that to the DVD. It'll take a little longer, but shouldn't carry over any of the +R baggage.

That would be great if you could try your alternate idea, if you don't mind--on the off chance you can stop by tonight, I left an envelope in the front hallway again, but no rush :-)

oh shit shit shit :( i knew there was something i meant to do tonight. in any case, my asthma and back were acting up so i wouldn't have been able to go anyways :( i'm getting very bored and frustrated with my inability to do anything other than work right now.

I'm a zombie this morning despite not staying late--I'm definitely coming down with a cold. In fact, I think you could say I have indeed come down with one.
