I saw a bunny rabbit on my way to work this morning. I guess I shouldn't call the rough and tumble cottontails "bunnies" because there's nothing particularly soft and fluffy about them, but the long twitchy ears make them bunnies to me.

Also on my way to work a woman passed out on my train, just collapsed straight to the floor. Naturally we were stopped between stations and the train wasn't moving. By the time we did get to the next station, she was conscious and saying she didn't want medical help, although the next stop was Charles MGH and a couple of passengers offered to walk over to the hospital with her. The train conductor was very brusque--I thought he should have maybe pressed the issue of her getting medical attention, but his whole attitude seemed to be dismissive and more focused on getting the train moving again. The fellow passengers were very good though, taking care of her and calling 911 and finding the train intercom system (naturally located at the other end of the car). And she did seem okay, knew her name and where she was going and all that. Maybe it's not the first time and she knows why it happens and that's why she didn't want help, or at least I hope it was something like that.

So the morning had a bunny and human beings being good. I expect rainbows and unicorns later in the day.

I'm a little sad now that I didn't go to MR, but I would *not* have been able to handle the crowds and the heat last night. Instead I danced at work again, this time in an airconditioned office, until my body politely but insistently told me that it was time to knock it off and go home and rest. Was way too hot and lazy to make real dinner so I had popcorn and a Cutie ice-tofutti sandwich for dinner. Watched the second half of So You Think You Can Dance--I didn't see any bellydancers doing their thing, though I did see some women in hipscarfs at various points in the show. I really liked what Darkside of the Freak Show was doing--all of the Freak Show were endearing in their own way, but Darkside was really something else, I guess the real dancer of the bunch. It's hard to describe what they did, sort of contortionist hip hop with facial piercings, dyed hair and Cure t-shirts. Darkside's long spider legs combined with his stage dramatics were so striking. I hope he can take it all somewhere.

it was very hot and fairly crowded - we actually left a little early so the ac office dancing was not a bad call

I've been in that position before of fainting in public. I once had a particularly bad fainting episode in front of a line of people at Logan airport. In my case, I also refused medical treatment ~ not because I didn't need or want it, but because I have no insurance. Perhaps that was the case with her as well.

funny this came up, but it reminds me of something that i've seen around in various places lately about how if you see this happen, you should make sure it's not a stroke by asking the person to do the following (even though they might seem ok):

1. can they smile?
2. can they hold both arms over their head?
3. can they say a complete sentence?
