May. 16th, 2005 02:28 pmI wish whoever poured all the rubber cement and broken glass down my throat hadn't done it. It really wasn't a nice thing to have done. I suppose I must be less sick than I was yesterday because the lymph nodes on the back of my neck have stopped being swollen, but I feel like death warmed over and then left out too long so that death develops a nice dried crust of nasty bacteria stuff on top.
Last night I watched the Miyazaki film Porco Rosso, which while it wasn't one of Ghibli's best was still entertaining and visually stimulating enough that I had dreams that I was in it. I suppose the fact that I have flown in float planes helped prompt the dreams. I also dreamed that there was a strange animal that I'd never seen before living in a rocky burrow on the presumably mediterranean cliffside. In the dream, I made a mental note to go look up what sort of animal this was when I woke up. Today as I checked Boing Boing I saw a story about a hitherto uncataloged critter called a kha-nyou or a rock rat, from Laos. I'm sure that was the animal in my dream, with its long head and stripes. And if it's called a rock rat then it presumably lives in the rocks. I don't *think* I saw any news reports about it before today. I guess my fever dreams are pretty powerful stuff.
It's those little things that will get me through this week.
