The first time Amelia the ferret encountered a clear plastic bag, I could have sworn she was laughing at the fact that she could see through the bag but couldn't go through it.  Now scientists say animals laugh, and so I am sure I was right.

Other researchers prefer to view laughter and joy as uniquely human traits.

Joy? They clearly meant "dumb," not "other."
