I just took this stupid "how much of a christian are you" test--I call it stupid because even the way the questions were phrased irked me, but maybe I should call it insiduously clever, or something  like that.  Anyway, I'm pleased to report I scored -57 points out of 170 possible.  Yes, I scored in the negative, putting me in the "Communist/Marxist/Socialist/Secular Humanist Worldview Thinker" category.  So I guess I'm not very Christian at all, but I'm a bit surprised to find out that I'm a Communist.

Well, maybe I'm not that surprised, because by the testwriters' standards, I suppose I am, although I certainly don't credit them with having a thorough understanding of what Communism might actually be.  If anybody else would like to skew their results, you can find the test here.

I suspect I need to do more reading, but is socialism really that incompatible with religion?

I guess I've always thought of socialism as more of an economic system than anything else...I really need to read up.

Well, the quiz did have questions like "Do you believe God supports a free market economy?"

And how are you supposed to answer that if you aren't sold on the whole God concept in the first place?

Does the bible weigh much on economic policy? Or on methods on governance?

I guess I'm fascinated by the US's current assumption that Democracy, Capitalism, and Jesus all go hand in hand. Or that any two of them have a strong relationship.

If I were a god, I'd be all about a socialist totalitarian government.

Your results remind me of a time I took a test in junior high to find out whether I was Democrat or Republican. I scored so beyond left wing that they seemed rather nervous when giving me the results in front of class and said I was off the charts, showing up as a Communist ;)


*When typing, I noticed I originally mispelled Democrat as "Demoncrat" ... well, I thought it was funny!

Just the phrasing of some of the questions is enough to make be itch with disgust. Still, I made it through the test and got a -46 out of 170. ;-)
I feel like I could have gotten lower, but I left many as "no opinion" because I disagreed with the nature of the question itself.
