upcoming performances
Nov. 29th, 2004 12:11 pmI've got two performances coming up at belly dance events:
December 5 -- Za-Beth's holiday hafli Troupe Sarab is performing two numbers (including one holiday-themed surprise), along with many other wonderful and talented dancers, including Stephanie (winner of beginners contest October Bazaar/Hafli), Cecile, Katy, Sumora, Elka, Charka BD Troupe, Zeina, Anita Cristina, Qalayla, Ioke, HYETTI, Zareena (winner of 2004 Diva pageant), Aneckha, Ismalia (of VT), Dorothea, Shalimar (of CT), Karina Amara (of Ct), and Katia (of Boston). Several of these people are teachers, so if you are a student it's a good way to do some browsing of styles. The hafli runs from 2-5, and there will be some open dancing with a live band. Location is the Arlington Elks Lodge, 56 Pond Lane, Arlington (mapquest is accurate). There will be vendors present for all your holiday shopping (or holiday indulgence!).
December 11 -- Amira Jamal's student recital I will be performing one solo number and in a troupe number at Amira Jamal's student recital. Performances will range from brand new beginners to professional-level dancers and everything in between. The recital starts at 1pm and should be over by 2:30, and will be held at Boston University's George Sherman Union, 775 Comm Ave, in I think the Conference Auditorium on the second floor. There will be signs directing people to the right room, or just listen for the sound of coins jingling ;-)
There will be more things coming up, but this is the immediate future (this, plus untold hours of rehearsals this week and next).
