alonewiththemoonIt's 82 degrees in my office. Yesterday when it was overcast and clammy the heat would not work. Today when there was lots of sunlight to heat up the office, the heat will not stop working. I just turned on the AC.
Last night in Amira Jamal's class we did a lot of zillwork, which is good because I need to be better at it but is not good because I hate doing it because I'm no good at it. Well, I don't *hate* it, but it's not my favorite thing, that's for sure. Today my hands and wrists are sore. Tonight in Seyyide's class I know I will be doing cane stuff, so I imagine my right hand and arm will be pretty much useless tomorrow.
I did have a great breakthrough last night about the way I put my feet on the ground. I think rather than putting my full weight into my feet, I somehow cantilever the muscles of my legs against one another and as a result end up with a lot of muscular tension and am not as stable on my feet as I would like to be. I don't think this is because of the foot injury, though that probably hasn't helped. Experimenting while walking to Alewife this morning revealed that if I put more down pressure into my step, my lower back muscles are more relaxed. The body is a fascinating thing. Anyway I will be stomping around for a while as I figure this thing out.
Pan looks like himself again. He's still skinnier than he should be for a winter weasel, but he's filled out enough to look healthy. Last night he was chasing around a frog toy--the toy has a cord you pull to make it shake all over. Pan at first was attacking the frog, but after stepping back and observing for a moment, every time the frog started shaking he attacked my hand instead. Smart weasel!
