Yikes!

This happened yesterday, six blocks from my house and even closer to silas7's house:

An armed gunman dressed in camouflage fatigues was arrested yesterday in Arlington after he allegedly ran up and down a tree-lined street screaming incoherently and pointing a 9 mm handgun at his neighbors, police said.

The man, Nikita A. Ryabchenko, was also carrying an illegal double-sided knife, police said. Inside his apartment on Magnolia Street, investigators with a search warrant discovered several more illicit knives and an illegal, high capacity SKS assault rifle with ammunition, police said.

"Suffice to say he was well armed," said Chief Frederick Ryan of the Arlington Police Department.

Sigh.  Phone muggers outside my office, crazy people with assault rifles in my neighborhood--what kind of place do I live in?

I blame the media which blames the economy which has sent everyone INTO A PANIC.
