Still working on the Arisia video, but in the meanwhile, here's ferrets:

As one might guess from the clip's title, originally I had set this to Blitzkrieg Bop by the Ramones, but YouTube would not allow that as it is third party copyrighted material. They would allow the video to be there, but muted only. They do have their own library of copyright-free music to add to your video, hence the Toreadors, which kind of works but the Ramones were better. I'm sure none of the Ramones would mind/would have minded, but what can you do. (with a video service like that, no it's not your fault, what can you do...)

You have to love record executives ~ they're so worried about losing money, they won't let anyone listen to the music, so they'll limit the audience...

Yeah--it's not like somebody is going to listen to a YouTube video with supercompressed sound every time they want to hear Blitzkrieg Bop! It's like free advertising, but they just don't see it.

Unfortunately, many corporations do the same thing. It's a failure to recognize where their money ~ and more importantly, the potential for more money ~ is coming from.

It's very pronounced in the music industry because the two important parties ~ the artists and the listeners ~ are starting to realize that the middle men between them are not important. If the record companies wanted to stick around, they'd figure out a business model that is useful, and not alienate themselves from the two real power brokers.

Of course, I'd be happier if the scales tipped faster. =)

Yeah, he's doing well. Sissy at half his weight can whup his ass, but then she can whup all our asses in this house. She's *that* kind of sprite :-)
