PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Police sources tell KDKA that a campaign worker has now confessed to making up a story that a mugger attacked her and cut the letter "B" in her face after seeing her McCain bumper sticker.

That is rather what I figured.  It is sad that someone, on any side of the political spectrum, would do something like this, and I hope she gets the helps she needs.

Yeah, the backwards "B" was the biggest tip off for me when I first saw it... Sad. Luckily, the election season is almost over and hopefully the fever-pitch craziness will die down with it.

I read that, and went "hmmmm...but okay, people are crazy." But I noticed at the end of the article I read it said the victim refused hospital treatment. Um what?! A stranger *cuts into your face* and some medical attention is not warranted. Fishy!

Hmph.
