I had thought for sure Comfort was going home, but after watching the solos, I thought it would be Courtney. Comfort was strong in her solo and Kourtni is just awesome. But no, it was Kourtni. I think between her and Comfort, I would agree with Nigel that it should have been Comfort (and judging by her tears, so did she), but of the three of them, I would have sent home Courtney. I'm bummed, because I liked Kourtni's individuality and personality. She was rapidly becoming one of my favorites among the women.
Matt, I was ok with. He's technically superior to Thayne, but Thayne makes much better connection with the audience and is a better entertainer. Though the speech they gave Matt was a little WTF--"you started out excellent, and you haven't gotten better than excellent, whereas meh people have gotten good, so good bye to you." Gev rocked his solo, no dispute there.
Good to see Robert the popper again, he is technical and entertaining, what every dancer should strive to be regardless of genre or style!

Curse & I had the same reaction... I said, "so should he have pretended he wasn't as good in the beginning just so he could show 'improvement'?" ~ what a whacko thing to say... brings back baggage of the whole getting straight A's all the time so it becomes normal and expected and therefore not appreciated. :P

Date: 2008-07-04 02:54 pm (UTC)I wonder how much dancing something choreographed by smaller people affects the taller, longer dancers. Both of them, but especially Kourtni, will have it a little tough if they follow professional careers.
