I carried our comforter to the laundromat in my arms, as I couldn't find a bag big enough to stuff it in. After I wrestled it into the washing machine, I found myself covered in ferret hair. The comforter itself is still pretty saturated with hair even after being washed (though I suppose now it is clean hair).
Then when I got home, I found an envelope in the mail from one of the vet techs at Angell. Dr. M has finished her internship and is moving on, and the tech is coordinating a memory book for her, soliciting contributions from all the pet owners she had worked with during her time at Angell. Dr. M., as you may recall, did not impress me at all on our first meeting, but I watched her grow into an experienced vet who did gain my trust as time went by. There was no doubting her dedication and I believe she'll go on to become a very solid vet, wherever she ends up. She also battled brain cancer during the time that I knew her, but still came to Angell to observe the other vets, even when she was too weak to stand during an examination. She was a big comfort to me during the awful hours when I was trying to get M on the phone with the news that it was Ronan's time to go, even though she wasn't the vet we were seeing that day.
Funny how emotional laundry and taking in the mail can be.
I ordered ferret bedding a couple of days ago.
