alonewiththemoon | dames, booze, chains & boots

my weekend in a nutshell, though the chains were more the metaphorical chains of the aftereffects of considerable booze than any literal chains. The dames were the lovely

mistresshellena and

spitcurl and a new acquaintence. The booze was flowing all day*. The boots were on our feet. Fortified by sour apple martinis, we made our way through the throngs of red sox fans to Avalon to see the Cramps, who were cramptastic as always. Lux Interior looked shockingly healthy. He made a lot of context-specific remarks too, so he wasn't having to stick to scripted patter. Poison Ivy looked killer as always. The current bass player is the definition of punk rockabilly boy hottt. I have no idea what the drummer looked like as I couldn't see him. Anyway, the band was tight and it was a fantastic show. It got out early enough that we were able to escape Fenway quite handily.

*there is a bar in the women's bathroom at Avalon. This is somewhat perplexing, but convenient in a slightly distasteful kind of way, I suppose.

Then off to ManRay for an art opening, and more booze. Then off to

mishak's for karaoke and more booze. I unleashed my inner diva to a variety of songs. I like singing. Plus there was all the booze inspiring me on, to somewhat interesting choices. I hate the Police. So why did I sing one of their songs? Booze. Finally

mistresshellena and I decided we were done partying like rock stars and made our weary way to our homes. Thank you for all the driving!

Sunday was owwie. No more booze! But I survived, and M came home from his karaoke extravaganza in Vermont, and Farscape was on*, and life was good. Did not get any dancing in on Sunday as planned, but I think I shook and shimmied enough at the Cramps to count for a practice session.

*I thought it terribly romantic every time Crighton referred to Aeryn as his wife (even if that wasn't technically correct), as I sat on the couch being my loved one's wife :-)
