Probably not a good sign when your monitor keeps briefly flashing a solid purple-y magenta screen at you, is it.  Promised myself a new computer in mid-September, I hope all the bits and pieces of this one make it that far...

Season Two of the Muppet Show came out today and I made a detour on my way to dance class to pick it up.  Any time I am ever feeling sad, I will make myself watch Rowlf the Dog singing "What a Wonderful World" to a sleepy cocker spaniel puppy, a real one.  You can't buy medication like that.

Class was very inspirational tonight.  I was able to do things I didn't think I could do, like remember which direction was which while turning and hopping.  I guess if you do something often enough, it finally sinks in.  Finally was taught that move that a lot of people call the Jewel, it's a classic Fifi thing.  I don't have it quite down yet, it keeps turning into a half circle instead of the two loops of a figure 8, but now that I understand the mechanics of it I can work on it.  Not that the half circle thing isn't a valid movement in itself, but the figure 8 is nifty too.

Man, it just went magenta again.  Meh.

I have always had trouble with the jewel but I think I may have cracked it conceptually last night, although it might still take a while to become something I can do easily. I'm glad we spent so much time on it.

I love that turn & hop. I love that class. I have to tell myself that it will all make sense later, when we do anything of these moves again, they will come easier for having struggled now.
