Huh. I thought the routine had more to do with each dancer's personal struggles in life and what they wanted to see changed in the world for the better. Now, those messages, like unity and understanding, could incorporate what's going on in foreign politics, but I felt like the message was much bigger than that...and much more personal.
Wade Robson said explicitly at the beginning of the show that the theme of the solo was anti-war and finding the means to create change starting within yourself and spreading outward. It was personal, but it was also about the Iraq war.
