So M and I, being big geeks, watched Starbuck's viper explosion from start to finish with freeze frame.  She did indeed use her ejector seat--quite clearly, she and her chair were free before the ship blew, you can see her sailing off up into the right hand corner of the screen and out of view as the ship is engulfed in flames.  I am excited by this, but I wonder:  did she not stop short in the face of death once again?



Work was mad crazy insane yesterday (contrary to expectations) and this morning, but suddenly all is calm.  For now.

I remember hearing that the producers know that a large majority of the BSG audience uses DVRs and watches it later. Do you think they expected people to watch the explosion frame by frame, and CGI'd in the ejection so that it was way to fast to see normally?

You could catch a blur viewed normally, mostly the canopy of the cockpit as it traveled ahead of her, but you have to slow it down to see the human shape in there. That Cylon raider too was just a super quick blip, although it was a little easier to see at regular speed. I'm sure that must have been on purpose--maybe the raider was the tease to get obsessive people to watch the whole thing frame by frame...
