I sit and watch tv

Shamanic Locke is back in the house! Yeah!!! This was always one of my favorite pieces of character development on the show, so I'm very happy to see him back on his feet, as it were. I also am very happy to see island mystical mumbo-jumbo back as well. Sure, we now know that the polar bears came from the Dharma zoo, but sometimes a bear is not just a bear, especially when you have to go into a dark hole in the ground to confront it. And when Mr. Eko spoke, I'm sure that was the island. And Desmond, now with the psychic powers! And even Charlie got his snark back. Very satisfying.
Benry Gale's comment about Locke being "one of the good ones" makes a lot of sense now--Kate, Sawyer, and Jack all lashed out without empathy for those they were killing (Jack didn't kill his father directly, but the guilt load is there, so that counts) but Locke stopped himself and did not kill, even though his entire world was going to crash down around him and his instinct was to do whatever "daddy" told him to do. I'm guessing the undercover officer is going to get shot anyway though, from what Locke said to Charlie about bad things happening to those who follow him. Maybe Locke loses the use of his legs trying to protect him.
Kind of predicted Jeffrey's win through the "character development" they did with him last week and the week before--remind us that he's a jerk by bringing up the Angela's mother thing, but then show him hugging and kissing his little baby boy and then put him in serious jeopardy so that the wind is truly knocked out of his sails and he becomes a highly sympathetic character. I liked some of his collection; the jackets with the slit lower edges were interesting and cut in a flattering way, and I really liked the stripy signature gown, the way the stripes interacted at different angles. It was really a work of art in the design and execution. But other stuff was downright boring/out of character or ugly.
Uli didn't make anything outright ugly (though that brown stripe fabric made the models look like giraffes in mumus), but there was definitely some boring there. Some very pretty, though. I liked the use of the boars' tusks.
Laura--I agreed with the judges, it was all glamor wear and not a complete collection. I did like a lot of her dresses, though some of them suffered from frump.
Michael--that was just sad. He went way too overboard on the sexy to the point of trashy. I know he could have done better. I wonder if perhaps interesting menswear is really more where his talents lie. The world definitely needs more interesting menswear, so that's not a bad thing.
edited to add: I wanted to give Tim Gunn a hug when his voice started shaking as he told Jeffrey that he went overbudget. He must be the nicest man on television...
