I am not at all sold yet on Season Two's Doctor Who.  He's a little too, I don't know, smug maybe, though since they're all a bit smug maybe it's just smugness gone wrong.  Plus I really liked the angst and black jacket of the previous Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) and wanted more.  And the Christmas special between the seasons was just awful.  But anyway, fans of Anthony Stewart Head might like to know that he is guest-appearing on this Friday's Doctor Who as an evil headmaster.  SciFi Channel at 8pm.

I've already seen the whole season, and while he's no Christopher Eccleston (who I think is just in another league), he did grow on me to the point where I no longer kept on thinking to myself how Eccleston would have done it, and how much better it would have been.

Heh... I'm pretty sure I'll end up thinking he's ok, but yeah, he's certainly no Christopher Eccleston!

The swordfighting in the Christmas special really bugged me. The whole point of Doctor Who is that he generally doesn't swashbuckle. So that predisposed me against the new guy, even though that's the scriptwriters' fault and not his.

I've seen all of the second season, and while I think that the shows with Eccleston were better, I kinda like the new guy better, mostly because I dig his brown suit and Chucks and because he's CUUUUUUUTE in that not-really-nerdy-just-wearing-glasses sorta way. The male version of the Sexy Librarian with her hair in a tousled bun.

yeah, I'm a fan of Tennant as an actor, and thought he did a good job with what he was given - i dunno, I just haven't been happy with the slightly more tongue and cheek (and shorter) stories of the last two series.
