For one drink--Put about a teaspoon of sugar, depending on your preference, and a couple of stems' worth of mint leaves in cocktail shaker. Muddle until the leaves are pretty much shredded to bits and verging on paste. Add two or three strawberries, sliced into quarters. Muddle until the strawberries are all mashed up. Add juice of half a lime, two shots of rum and some ice, then shake til all shook up. Pour into glass with more ice as needed, top off with seltzer or club soda. I didn't bother straining my drinks because I figured the annoyance of the strawberry seeds was mild compared to the benefit of keeping the mint leaves in there, plus we have these good stirrer-spoon-straw things that are decent at being filters in their own right. The seeds tended to stay in clumps anyway.
