I screwed up when setting the DVD-R last night, so I only caught the second half of SYTYCD. Therefore I do not feel right in comparing the stuff I saw to anything else. I will say though, Joshua and Katee's paso doble, ai yi yi! That girl is way past any sexy issues she might have had at the beginning of the show, and Joshua just owned that dance. And I don't care how non-PC that caveman ending was, it sure worked for me. Swoon. I though Twitch and Chelsie's hip hop started strong but lost energy by the end, and I think Twitch really carried it as far as it went, as evidenced by the fact that he was sopping wet at the end and she didn't seem to have broken a sweat. Hopefully I can see more of the routines on YouTube or in recaps in the results show tonight.
I danced with my decorated shamadan last night. Unfortunately the very pretty glass crystal ball that I wanted to put on top is just too heavy and throws the whole thing off balance. Without it, though, it went pretty well. I video'd myself to make sure the shamadan isn't wobbling too much, and it stays pretty solid. We'll see how it goes on whatever surface I'm dancing on Saturday--I think it might be cobblestones, fun fun. That should make my saidi just grand as well. :-/
Got the paperwork I needed from my bank, so today I sent RCN a very RAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!! letter telling them to credit me with the money I already paid them, and that they are big inefficient sloppy business practices jerks. Politely, of course, but pointedly. I copied it to RCN's CFO and to my town's Cable Advisory Committee of the Board of Selectmen, which is responsible for granting licenses and so forth. As I told the town, I don't expect them to do anything, but I thought they should be aware of how the cable company treats its customers, i.e., piss poorly. Fingers crossed that this gets resolved quickly.
