fruit salad you mock me
Feb. 21st, 2008 06:04 pmThe fruit salads at the local convenience store are always a gamble in terms of freshness, and the last time I had one I was made slightly ill by its lack of freshness. Today however they looked good, so I took a chance. And lo and behold, it was good, but lo and behold, halfway through I found a large hair that was definitely not one of my own fallen in. Sometimes there is no winning.
Good physical therapy session today. The PT told me that we've made a lot of progress in breaking up the scar tissue, which is great news, and we talked about ways to keep up my current level of dancing without causing more injury (one strategy: when we're working on releve in class, stay flatfooted until my calves are good and warmed up, then do some work on releve, and switch back to flat as soon as any ache starts). It will require some discipline on my part but it is far, far better than having to cut back, especially after seeing on Tuesday night's video that I'm moving in the directions that I want to be moving in. I'll be seeing the podiatrist again in about a month for an official prognosis.
Home is strange. I knocked myself out before bed with a shot of rum in my Bengal Spice tea with honey (it was very good, actually, and I will call it the Tiger Toddy) but did not sleep all that well, not too surprisingly. Half of my morning and evening routines are gone, since they were ferret related. I still keep thinking I'll see Seti trotting out into the dining room, or hearing noises and thinking it's him. It will take time.
