a call for artists

this came through on the Somerville Arts Council mailing list and I thought I'd post it here for any interested parties.  I know nothing personally about it, but it could be a good opportunity.

Hi!

My name is James Welborn, and I'm opening a comic shop in Union
Square, just down the hill from my house.

So far, the plan is to open in Mid-November, a couple months behind
schedule.

The two friends I'll have working there to start are both Mass Art
grads, and one of them has a small studio space just down Washington
Street. I'd like to get involved in ArtsUnion as much as possible.

Also, I would like to make an open call for any local artist who
wants to place a work or two for sale in the shop, or organize art
projects for me. (We already have plans to get Sidewalk Sam to do
some sort of comic-related sidewalk art in Union Square somewhere if
we can get the permits.)

I'd also like to have as many local zines as possible (and help
publish any comics!) in the shop, so please spread the word!
