ha i'm not at the dentist's!

I slept a solid 12 hours last night--I probably would have kept on sleeping but the noise of a sudden downpour bouncing off the air conditioner woke me up.  So much for my plans to get a million things done today, but oh did I ever need the sleep.  Today I will dance in my new costume and see if I can convince myself to trust the neck strap, work on my zar until the world is spinning too much to continue, watch a horse race, maybe make some pesto as the basil seriously needs trimming back, possibly sew some little shell rings to bias tape while watching the horse race, and then go have fun with friends.

My business cards arrived, yay!  I like them.  I'm still second guessing myself a little bit on my choice of photo, but it's a good action photo and I think the baladi dress makes the kind of statement about me that I would like to make.  Not that I'm quite sure what that is, but whatever.  The last of the pieces of my voodoo dolly costume arrived yesterday, the (resin) hawk leg, fake sinew and the horse hair.  I'm very happy to say that the horse hair is fairly soft, so scratching shouldn't be an issue.  These horses must have used conditioner.  The shell rings and bias tape mentioned in the last paragraph are for the lacing on the belt.

Wow, it suddenly got really dark.  I should probably turn the computer off before the apocalypse hits...

complaint department, please

According to weather.com, it is 74 and "feels like" 74.  I beg to differ.  The 88% humidity is making the entire world into a sauna.   I thought thunderstorms were supposed to relieve the humidity, not increase it >:-(

 My new costume is definitely no longer new, it's been baptized in salt water.  I think I can trust the neck strap, assuming my sweat hasn't eaten away the thread holding the hooks in place...
