Last night we watched Voices of a Distant Star, a short anime film (~30 minutes) about what happens inside that giant robot suit as the cute teenage girl in the short skirt drifts farther and farther from home. It seriously made me cry and I strongly recommend it. Netflix has it.
Today we went to see the Joseph Cornell exhibit at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem and my mind is still swimming from it all. I bought the DVD of his movies, since we didn't watch them in the exhibit, which also came with a DVD-ROM featuring loads of his art. I guess it says something about me that this seemed preferable to a book now. But I think we can play the DVD-ROM on the DVD-R player, so we can have rotating Cornell art in the living room, and that seemed like a very good idea.
Then we ate at Finz where I had almond butter crusted tilapia with gazpacho, watercress and roasted red pepper salad and saffron potatoes. It was actually too buttery--cooking the fish with olive oil would have suited the dish better--but was very delicious nonetheless. Oh, and ceviche scallop mini tacos as an appetizer. Yum Oh, as somebody says.
Vacation good.
