Nov. 8th, 2006 04:42 pmYoga Journal has a nifty "what type of yoga is right for you" quiz at its website--no fancy picture and results to paste, but if you are curious about yoga the quiz results can provide a handy quick list of styles of yoga you might like. As with most quizzes, I had my preconceptions re-confirmed :-)
This morning I saw a hawk sitting in a tree along the bike path. The hawk was too soggy and my long distance eyesight too poor for a solid ID but I would guess a Coopers or a redtail since those have both been seen in the area before. I was thinking wow, what a lovely way to start the morning, and then 30 feet later literally nearly tripped over a homeless guy who has apparently taken up residence in the bike path-Route 2 underpass, which was not nearly so lovely. He's probably one of the guys who panhandles the intersections around Alewife; usually they live in the woods by the Little River, but I suppose he wanted shelter from the rain. Gotta say, I know the guy needs a place to sleep but it makes me feel unsafe and now I definitely feel like I can't walk on the bike path after dark, and would really rethink walking any time that's not rush hour when lots of people are out. Between this and the obscene graffiti painted under the bridge, the nice nature walk in the morning has definitely lost some of its charm. Guess it's not very yogic of me, but it's very easy to resent most of the rest of humanity sometimes.
